Can we PLEASE make this common knowledge in this damn fandom? No, he's not "turning evil" or "psychotic" or "turning into a different person" he just thinks he's back on the battlefield fighting for his life. "Fliqpy" is just a name for when he goes into this state, and honestly they never should have created that nickname because it's just created so much dang confusion. "Fliqpy" is just Flippy hallucinating.

Is HTF an accurate portrayal of mental illnesses? No, it was the early 2000′s, there was a lot of misinformation floating around even within the Psychological community, and the show never set out to try and accurately portray literally anything (funny you guys never accuse the show of promoting child neglect or animal abuse). But hallucinations ARE a symptom of PTSD. I've seen a lot of people claim otherwise while criticizing the show.

I am starting to get interested in htf and I want an introduction to the characters. Like personalities and stuff.

To be honest, a lot of the HTF characters are pretty two-dimensional canonically speaking! They may have one or two specific traits, or simply just a "gimmick" that makes seeing them die interesting (...I guess?).

Like 70% of the stuff you'll see in the fandom is stuff we pretty much made up based on what little material we have to work with.

I have my own headcanons of course, BUT for your sake I'll keep it canon-focused:

Cuddles- Loveable and sweet, but also a bit of a trouble maker

Giggles— Affectionate, somewhat romance—centric, otherwise friendly (female protag #1)

Petunia— Similar to Giggles (female protag #2), and is also meant to be OCD coded (though the accuracy of the depiction is... questionable at best)

Toothy— Considered to be impulsive, otherwise personality can vary

Lumpy— Loveable idiot, means well most of the time, sometimes evil but not always

Handy— Grumpy/short tempered, helpful and hard working (Also a running "joke" is that he is put into situations that require to use hands, which he has a lack of. That's why hot people call him Henry)

Nutty— Somewhat chaotic/hyperactive, happy-go-lucky, occasionally selfish

Pop— Single dad trying his best, often inattentive, isn't always the brightest

Cub— Literally a baby

Flaky— Anxious all the time, usually the one aware of danger first, occasionally sporty

The Mole—He doesn't really have a personality outside of being a blind man, although he apparently has a past of being a spy

Disco Bear— Flirty (but not TOO pushy), funky guy who genuinely wants to have a good time

Russell— Pirate man! Pretty optimistic and has plenty of hobbies/talents, sometimes has a touch of "sea madness"

Shifty and Lifty— As their names imply, they're pretty sketchy. Often either stealing and scamming people, and Shifty often hurts his brother Lifty during dire situations. Greedy and self centered

Mime— A mime with many performance talents, seems to like being the center of attention and making people smile

Cro-Marmot— The joke is that he's stuck in the block of ice, and yet gets praised for being so "amazing"

Flippy/Fliqpy— War vet. Flippy is friendly and means well, yet when his "PTSD" is triggered, he goes "crazy" and starts killing people—I have mixed feelings about him as you can probably tell

Splendid— Superhero who means well, but sucks at his job, ignorant and somewhat egotistical

Lammy— Cheerful and girly, but is often the (in)direct(?) cause of death around her due to a sentient pickle. Yeah I don't know either

SO BASICALLY, yeah that's about all you need to know canon wise

I love how in your HTF AU/rewrite Fliqpy/Flick isn't an "sooper ebel psycotik murderar!!!!111", he's just a feral bastard man that breaks into your house, drinks all your Pepsi, and calls you a bitch. Petition to replace all "evil" alters with feral unhinged chaotic neutral ones in 2021

I'm glad! while flick is a chaotic neutral guy he also has a lot of "big brother energy" to his rewritten character despite being younger than flippy for a few years

n honestly alter characters deserve more variety than what we get on the media that always ends up being the "oooo evil murder personality" stereotype
